Maybe it's just talk, but in receiving a parliamentary delegation from Tehran this weekend, Jordanian PM Marouf Bakhit called for expanded ties and exchange delegations in all fields with Iran. Bakhit hailed Tehran, saying that "Iran is the strategic depth for all regional countries." That's hardly what the West would want as it works to isolate the regime diplomatically and financially for its rogue nuclear program.
He said, "We do not want the [nuclear] crisis to lead to a conflict in the region, because the region cannot tolerate more tension." Head of Iran-Jordan parliamentary friendship group Heshmatollah Falahatpisheh, for his part, referred to the importance of position of Iran and Jordan in the region and said, "Expansion of ties between the two countries is to the benefit of both nations."
