According to Egypt's official news agency MENA, Palestinian PM Ismail Haniyeh will visit Egypt tomorrow for talks on the Palestinian national unity government and a prisoners' swap with Israel. Earlier on Sunday night, Hamas leader Khaled Meshaal wrapped up a three-day visit to Egypt, during which he held talks with Egyptian Intelligence Chief Omar Soliman and Arab League Secretary General Amr Moussa.
Several Hamas leaders have paid intensive visits to Egypt recently for talks with Egyptian officials in an attempt to reach a solution to the issue of kidnapped Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit, who has been held hostage by Palestinian terrorists since he June 25.
Egyptians have been playing a mediating role between Hamas and Fatah as the two factions have been bickering for months over the formation of a unity government in place of the Hamas-led one to end the current economic and political crises in the Palestinian territories.
