MediaLine reports that Israeli PM Ehud Olmert has rejected conditions for a summit meeting set by Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, and the meeting itself along with it. On Sunday, Olmert said he would not release Palestinians being held in Israeli jails as demanded by Abbas as a prelude to the meeting until Cpl. Gilad Shalit, the Israeli soldier captured four months ago in a cross-border raid by three Palestinian factions, is repatriated. Olmert had said in recent days that a meeting between himself and Abbas would take place any day now, but on Sunday he told his party's parliamentary faction that, "We offered to meet, but apparently he is not interested."
