MediaLine reports that Iran has sent two clear messages to the West - one verbal, the other physical. Tehran has rejected Western calls to end its nuclear enrichment program. It must deliver its final answer on an offer by Western negotiators no later than Tuesday, and so far has given clear signals that it will not comply.
"The UN Security Council's resolution was of no legal and lawful validity. Therefore, it will be unacceptable for Iran," said Foreign Ministry spokesman Hamid Reza Asefi. "We are not going to suspend. The issue was that everything should come out of negotiations, but suspension of uranium enrichment is not on our agenda."
Meanwhile, Tehran says a series of missile tests carried out on Sunday were a resounding success. The surface-to-surface missile trials will continue over the next few days, including firing long-range and surface-to-sea rockets. Sunday's test line-up included a debut for the Saegheh short-range missile, capable of traveling 140 miles.
