Yesterday, the IAF shot down a Hezbollah UAV over the sea in Israeli airspace. While we do not know the specific mission of the UAV, it must be remembered that they can carry explosive warheads and can thus be used as "guided missiles" against pin-point strategic targets. While the IAF was successful in this instance, a future attempt by Hezbollah could have drastic results with even more drastic consequences for the conflict. Today, as the conflict continues, we look at the chain of events:
- 00:49 Ten mortar shells landed near Israel's northern border.
- 06:00 Throughout light arms fire attack of Hezbollah, two IDF soldiers were killed and two others were injured.
- 11:55 Hezbollah rockets land in Kiryat Shmona and Rosh HaNikra.
- 14:05 Hezbollah rockets land in Kiryat Shmona and the village of Shefer.
- 14:20 Hezbollah anti-tank missiles are fired towards Israeli forces, injuring four IDF soldiers.
- 17:55 Hezbollah rockets land in the villages of Shtula and Even Menachem.
We've also updated the rocket attack chart and developed an interesting pie chart on the location of rocket attacks on Israeli towns and cities (click each to enlarge):

The death toll on the Israeli side now stands at 38 civilians and 67 soldiers. In addition, 540 civilians and 259 soldiers have been injured. Lest we forget, 2 soldiers have been kidnapped. The death of nearly 100 civilians and soldiers combined has obviously been a challenge to the very fabric of Israeli society, and it has been answered from everything we can read and hear with unprecedented national unity, resilience and determination in standing up to Hezbollah's campaign of terror. The rockets attacks must end, 1559 must be implemented, and the re-supply of weapons by Iran and Syria must be prevented.
