The Egyptian democracy crackdown continued unabated in Alexandria this weekend, as police have arrested the Muslim Brotherhood's four-man media team involved in the chamber of commerce elections.
The detainees, from the anti-government Kefaya (Enough) Movement, had taken part in protests in solidarity with judges seeking judicial independence from the executive this month.
According to the Muslim Brotherhood, police raided and searched their member's home and confiscated their computers early on Friday. Activists said a separate group of five detainees would start a hunger strike in Torah prison in southern Cairo on Saturday night, in protest at their detention.
