Dr. Hans Blix, the former UN Chief Weapons Inspector, does not believe the IAEA has the hard evidence Iran intends to build a nuclear bomb or that Iran has violated the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty. What Blix fails to grasp is that the nature of the regime is secretive, and the world cannot afford to wait for hard evidence of a nuclear weapons program to come in the form of a missile test.
Blix also believes that in international negotiations with Iran, "you have to put something on the table," which he has yet to see. We suppose he missed the one or two stories floating around in obscure U.S. press about this American supported plan to allow Iran to enrich unranium under supervision in Russia. As a former agent of the UN, you can't fault him for wilfull ignorance, can you?
I think Blix is used to not seeing things. He sorta missed that Iraqi nuclear program when he was just about standing on it.
