Hamas leaders were invited to visit Russia for talks on Friday, Russian news agency Itar-Tass quoted a Foreign Ministry spokesman as saying on Monday.
Hamas leader Khaled Meshaal will head the delegation. Russia's invitation has destabalized the Quartet and upset Israel and the U.S. by challenging their campaign to isolate Hamas unless it renounces violence and recognizes Israel's right to exist.
