Thanks to the inspiration of Christopher Hitchens, Washingtonians showed their peaceful solidarity on Friday with the people of Denmark. A sampling of the rally for freedom at the Embassy of Denmark below.
UPDATE: Video is now available. Click the picture below to launch a moment from the rally in Windows Media Player.
UPDATE: Second video. Click here to see just what it is that we're rallying for!!
UPDATE: Hitchens addresses the crowd with an off-the-cuff speech. Click here to watch.

Thanks for the post and the pictures. I tried to get to the rally, but left work late and missed the bus in Downtown DC that I needed to get. Glad to see you had a good turnout despite a very cold, windy day here in Washington. I was with you in spirit and hope to be with you in the flesh next time. (Now that I know which corner to catch the bus at!)

Where were the freedom babes? I know Denmark has hotter women than Lebanon.

Good for you! Here's another way to support the Danes: Buy a box of Danish goods at igourmet.com to send to friends, just to show solidarity with people who are willing to stand up for freedom of speech and not cave in to threats. I did. And I'm told that the cheese and mussels were delicious.

I bought Danish bleu cheese today! Go Denmark! Go everybody who showed their support. Good job! The girl in my local supermarket on the Scarborough Bluffs in Toronto and I were laughing when I said 'Buy Danish'. She knew EXACTLY what I was talking about. Everybody in 'IN'! GO DENMARK!

I'm buy'n cheese, ham, pastries, and I would buy the beer but I quit sipping almost 14 years ago.
Thank you for posting the images.
I am glad to see such support for Denmark!
Visit MAXINE to see that angry Muslims are everywhere - it has been that kind of day.

The Pullback shot...
Considering the truck on left, the crop on the right, the low angle that shadow heads, I'd say thats lots more then 90. Just MHO.

I really wish that I could have been there! I heard of the rally only shortly before it began. Maybe some of us in the Philadelphia area could get one going. Is anyone else here from around Philadelphia?
Jeg elske Danmark!
