Update on Operations Against Terrorists in Gaza, Lebanon; Humanitarian Aid

Today, IDF ground forces are in northern Gaza as part of the operation to stop the launching of rockets on Israel and to destroy the terror infrastructure. During this particular operation, the IDF has carried out aerial attacks against nine cells of armed gunmen who attempted to fire anti-tank missiles and plant explosives against the Israeli forces. There was also an overnight aerial attack against a building in Rafah used by Hamas to store weapons and a Hamas weapons facility in Jabaliya.

Yesterday, the Karni goods crossing and Nahal Oz fuel terminal were opened again for the passage of food items and fuel into the Gaza Strip. At Karni, 141 truckloads and 24 containers of food and medicine were transferred to Gaza. At the Nahal Oz fuel terminal, Israel transferred 600,000 liters of diesel, 100,000 liters of gasoline and 225 tons of natural gas for cooking.

In Lebanon, Israeli forces are continuing their operations against Hezbollah in several areas close to the border in southern Lebanon to destroy the terror infrastructure, weapons facilities and missile stores. Yesterday, Israeli forces were in the area of Maroun A-Ras, and a number of terrorists were killed. In the past 24 hours, the IDF has carried out close to 180 aerial attacks, successfully targeting 87 Hezbollah structures and posts, 10 Katyusha launchers, 6 weapons storage facilities, 3 vehicles that form part of the missile-launching infrastructure, several rocket launching sites in southern Lebanon and routes used by Hezbollah to reach these sites. Artillery fire continues throughout southern Lebanon.
