Israeli Sources Say Hezbollah Received Advanced Version of Iranian Fajr-5
Uncomfirmed reports from anonymous sources say that Hezbollah terrorists in Lebanon have received an advanced Iranian rocket. Anonymous Israeli sources gave that information to Middle East Newsline. Reportedly, the weapon is the most advanced in their possession and can reach Israel's major cities.
The solid fuel missile is believed to be an advanced version of the Fajr-5 and can reach more than 124 miles. If true, this would mark an unbelievable advancement in their weapons cache. While the primary role of this artillery rocket system is the engagement of land targets, Iran's Aerospace Industries Organization says that a radar can be added to give the system the capability to track and engage naval targets. At present, Hezbollah is limited to the unguided Katyusha rocket with a range of 12.5 miles.
