An Army of Dissenters: Harvard Dhimmitude Examined
Last week, we described "The Israel Lobby and U.S. Foreign Policy" paper by John J. Mearsheimer and Stephen M. Walt as political advocacy in the cloak of academia -- a traditional, knee-jerk reaction by the realist camp in an attempt to regain primacy and roll back the global war on terrorism, roll back U.S. efforts for the democratization of the Middle East, roll back the U.S.-Israel relationship and end the post-9/11 foreign policy efforts of the Bush Administration.
David Duke of the KKK and the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood say that they have been vindicated in their positions by the paper, and that "the people who wrote that report were working for the interest of the American people." Walt doesn't seem to want the attention, saying that "I have always found Mr. Duke's views reprehensible, and I am sorry he sees this article as consistent with his view of the world." Walt, you've chosen whom your friends and your enemies are. You've made your bed, now lie in it.
In the blogosphere, an Army of Dissenters has been hard at work, and we'd like to highlight some of them. Scott at Power Line has an interesting post, The American Thinker has some great analysis and of course Atlas is on the case.
